Canoe Safari
A canoe safari gives you a unique perspective on African life, wildlife and landscape - the view from the water is often breathtaking as you surprise mammals drinking, catch owls sleeping during the day, banter with local fishermen, and slip quietly past pods of hippos grunting and snorting in the water by your canoe. Canoe safaris are available in northern or southern Tanzania. You can follow the Kilombero River in the south of the country, passing hippos and crocodiles and floating through fishing villages, or canoe one of the Great Lakes, surrounded by huge flocks of bright pink flamingos.
