Ruaha National Park

Iringa, Tanzania

Ruaha National Park boasts an almost untouched and unexplored ecosystem, making visitors’ safari experience very unique.

The Great Ruaha River as well as others like the Mwagusi, the Jongomero and the Mzombe serves as the lifeline of the park. During the dry season, these rivers become the main source of water for wildlife.

Ruaha is believed to have the highest concentration of elephants of any national park in East Africa. Magnificent mammals like the kudu, with its magnificent curved horns, can easily be spotted in Miombo woodland. The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, bat eared foxes and jackals.

The park is a bird watcher’s paradise with more than 571 species. Migrating species from Europe, Asia, the Australian rim and Madagascar have been recorded in the park alongside the endemic species.
