This morning you will be met by your private driver-guide for the start of your safari. After a short introductory briefing you will depart by road for Lake Manyara National Park and will spend the rest of the day game viewing there. In the evening you will stay overnight at Migunga Tented Camp. All meals included.

Lake Manyara: Stretched along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its huge elephant population and tree-climbing lions. Perhaps the most picturesque of the Northern Tanzania national parks, the stunning views of the flamingo-filled lake and Rift Valley escarpment will especially appeal to photographers. Birdwatchers will also find this park rewarding, with nearly 400 species present.

Migunga Tented Camp: Migunga is nestled away in a quiet corner of 35 acres of acacia forest and consists of 19 semi-luxury permanent tents on raised platforms with attached bathrooms and private veranda. All the tents are discreetly placed around a central glade, offering shade and privacy but still only a short walk to the restaurant and bar.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will depart from the camp with packed lunch driving to the Ngorongoro Crater. Game drives through the Ngorongoro Crater begin early in the morning in closed safari vehicles with pop-up roofs. The descent into the crater is one of scenic beauty, as you make your way through lush forests, home to numerous elephants and buffalo.
As you reach the inside of the Ngorongoro Crater, marveling at the incredible landscape around you, your guide will take you through the grassy crater floor, the unbelievable fever tree forest, the banks of Lake Magadi and the surrounding marshes. Lunch is served picnic style, surrounded by the natural wonders around you as well as the exceptional wildlife, roaming freely, with which you share this extraordinary paradise.

Ngorongoro Crater: Popularly known as the eighth wonder of the world, the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. Measuring 16 kilometres in diameter and enclosed in walls over 600 metres high, it surrounds a spectacular wildlife hotspot of over 25,000 large mammals. Hemmed in by forested walls, the crater floor has a combination of soda lakes, acacia forests, lush marshes and dry savannah. These diverse habitats support the full cast of East Africa’s brilliant animal and bird life: lions, cheetahs, hippos, buffalo, leopards, ostriches and elephants, to name but a few.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge: This beautiful lodge is situated on the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, in the volcanic highlands of Tanzania. Perched on the rim of the collapsed volcano, it has the most magnificent views over the crater floor, which is home to vast herds of buffalo, wildebeests, zebras, the rare and endangered black rhino, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, lions and herds of gazelle and wildebeests. Its position on the eastern rim allows the most spectacular and uninterrupted views of the sunset.
